With 38 years in the Oil & Gas industry, Mr. Hoye has served in multiple roles, starting with a 22 year career at Texaco, where he started as a geophysicist, gradually moving into a special projects team where he developed some cutting-edge technologies, including the use of genetic programming and neural network programs for synthesizing sonic logs from other common log suites that could be used to calibrate 3D seismic attributes with well control points. Mr. Hoye also developed Texaco’s first application doing inversion for velocity structure of seismic profiles using computer-aided-tomography. He then moved into risk analysis consulting and analytics, traveling around the world for Decisioneering (and later, Oracle) whose product Crystal Ball, was a fixture for performing Monte Carlo simulation, time series forecasting, and optimization.
