Genesis Berlanga is a research associate at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science at NASA Ames Research Center, specializing in Raman, XRD, and XRF analysis of Martian rocks and minerals. Previous experience includes a graduate internship at NASA Ames Research Center, where machine learning was applied to spectroscopic data for future Mars missions, as well as research roles at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, focusing on spectrometry and planetary science instrumentation. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. candidate status in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Ph.D. in Planetary Astronomy and Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
