Peter Berkhout is a high school science teacher at Redwood High School and also works as a Captain at Blue & Gold Fleet. In the past, Peter has worked as an Innkeeper at East Brother Light Station and as a 1st Mate & Engineer on the HMS Bounty. As a teacher at Tamalpais Union High School District, Peter taught various subjects including Leadership, Geometry, Algebra, Astronomy, and Precalculus. With experience as an Engineer and Mate on the Hawaiian Chieftain, Captain on the Charles Riverboat Co., and Captain on the Angel Island-Tiburon Ferry, Peter has a strong background in maritime operations. Peter has also served as Science Department Chair and Physics teacher at Marin Catholic High School.
