Ruwan Weerasekera is an experienced executive with a robust background in governance and leadership across various sectors. Currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at both UK Research and Innovation and the Financial Reporting Council since 2021, Ruwan previously held key leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer and Chair of the Board at SoftBank Investment Advisers, and Chair of Governors at The Bridge Academy. Ruwan's extensive experience also includes senior roles at ICBC Standard Bank Plc and London North West Health Care NHS Trust, as well as managerial positions at UBS Investment Bank and Accenture. Ruwan holds a Master of Science in Organisational Change from Hult Ashridge and a degree in Computing and Information Systems from The University of Manchester.
