Christopher Spencer has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Christopher currently serves as the Chief Community Engagement Officer at the Black Belt Community Foundation since June 2019. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Alabama/Black Belt Community Foundation as the Director of Resource Development for Community Engagement from October 2006 to June 2019. Christopher also has experience as a County Commissioner in Sumter County, Alabama from November 1994 to October 2002, where they were responsible for various tasks including business recruitment and road maintenance. Additionally, Christopher served as the HHD Commander 324th Personnel and Administration Bn in the United States Army Reserve from February 1988 to August 1995, leading a unit that deployed during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Before that, they worked at the West Alabama Mental Health Center as a Prevention and Intervention Coordinator, where they provided case management services and conducted workshops related to HIV/AIDS and substance abuse.

Christopher Spencer has a diverse education history. Christopher is currently a Ph.D student at The University of Alabama, specializing in Educational Psychology. Christopher started their doctoral studies in 2015 and is expected to complete their degree in 2022.

Prior to pursuing their Ph.D, Christopher obtained a Master of Science in Continuing Education from The University of West Alabama. Christopher completed this degree between 2004 and 2006, focusing on the fields of Counseling and Psychology.

Before their master's degree, Christopher attended American Baptist College, where they obtained a Diploma in Theology and Theological Studies. Christopher completed their studies at this college between 2002 and 2006.

Christopher's undergraduate education took place from 1983 to 1987 at The University of Alabama. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Political Science and English.

In addition to their formal education, Christopher has also obtained a certification in Conflicts of Interest. Christopher completed this certification through the CITI Program in June 2022.
