Shori Sims

Visual Arts Teacher at Birmingham Public Schools

Shori Sims is a dedicated visual arts educator currently serving as a Visual Arts Teacher at Birmingham Public Schools since July 2024. Prior experience includes a role as a Secondary English Teacher with Teach For America and a Graduate Student at the Rhode Island School of Design, where Shori also contributed as a Teaching Assistant. Additional experience encompasses coordinating online events at the RISD Museum and various artistic and educational roles at Carnegie Mellon University, including an Interdisciplinary Artist and Teaching Assistant. Shori also served internships and assistant positions at notable institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum and The Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, alongside leadership in arts activities at the YMCA of Catonsville. Educational achievements include a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
