John Richter is the Director of the Governing and Civics Project as well as the Congress Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center since 2013. Prior to that, John worked at the U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe for over a decade, serving as Chief of Staff and Deputy Legislative Director. John also held the role of Special Assistant/Speechwriter at the Senator's office. John graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Political Science in 1989.
