Bill Hoagland has extensive experience in public policy and economics, currently serving as Senior Vice President at the Bipartisan Policy Center since September 2012. Prior to this role, Bill held the position of Vice President of Public Policy at CIGNA Healthcare from February 2007 to August 2012. Bill's career in public service includes significant tenure in the U.S. Senate from August 1982 to January 2007 and as a Budget Policy Analyst at the Congressional Budget Office from July 1975 to February 1981. Bill's academic background includes a Master of Science in Economics from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Purdue University, along with earlier studies at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
