Kara Byrum has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kara began their career in 1997 as an International Credit Manager at Hill-Rom, where they stayed until 2000. From 2000 to 2003, Kara worked as a Credit Manager at Eurotrade. In 2003, they founded their own consulting firm, KLB International Consulting, LLC, where they served as President. Kara's most recent and current role is as the Director of Project Management at Biologics Modular, LLC, a position they have held since 2015.

Kara Byrum earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from Western Michigan University. Kara studied finance, Spanish, and international business during their time there from 1989 to 1994. In 1994, they briefly attended the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, but it is unclear whether they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study during that time.
