Alex Frederking has worked in the medical field since 2018. Alex began as a Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2018. In 2019, they moved to Nucleus Medical Media, where they worked as a Medical Animator. In 2022, they began working as a Medical Illustrator at BioDigital.

Alex Frederking began their educational journey in 2008 when they graduated from South Forsyth High School. Alex then attended Georgia College & State University from 2012 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. After that, they moved on to The University of Georgia, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Scientific Illustration from 2014 to 2017. Finally, they attended the University of Illinois Chicago, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Visualization from 2017 to 2019.
