Barbara Codan has a long and varied work experience. Barbara began their career in 2006 when they obtained their PhD in Nanotechnology from the University of Trieste. In 2007, they were a PhD visiting student at the University of California, Irvine. In 2009, they became a PostDoc at the University of Trieste. In 2011, they were a student of the master MCA at SISSA. In 2013, they co-founded GeniusChoice s.r.l. In 2017, they became the Innovation Manager at LAMPAS SYSTEM - S.R.L. In 2019, they became the Operations Manager - Sede di Trieste at Bio4Dreams S.p.A. and, most recently in 2021, they were appointed as the General Manager at Urban Center di Trieste.

Barbara Codan has a long and varied education history. Barbara began their studies in 1994, when they attended Liceo Scientifico. Barbara then went on to earn a Master's Degree from the Università degli Studi di Trieste in 1999-2005. From 2006-2008, they were a visiting PhD student at UC Irvine, where they studied Nanotechnology and Mechanics of cell. Barbara then earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nanotechnology from the Università degli Studi di Trieste in 2006-2008. In 2011, they earned a Master's Degree in Business/Managerial Economics from SISSA. Finally, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from MIB Trieste School of Management in 2013-2015, where they studied Leadership Development, Managerial Accounting, Accounting, Strategic Marketing, and Corporate Finance.
