Hannes Wessels is the General Manager for Southern and Francophone Africa at Binance, a position held since July 2022. Prior to joining Binance, Hannes spent over two decades at HSBC, most recently serving as the Head of Global Banking in South Africa, where responsibilities included leading multiple teams focused on various client segments. Hannes also held several key roles at HSBC, including Head of the Cape Town Office and Director of Corporate Banking, and managed teams dedicated to both inbound and outbound multinational clients. Hannes's professional foundation is supported by a B Com (Hons) in Money and Banking and a B. Com in Economics and Banking from the University of the Free State.
