Jey Bala has a diverse range of work experience. In 2012, they started their career at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Technical Solutions Rep III, where they provided support to Philips users in the US and managed a web portal. They then moved on to Dell Technologies as a Client Technical Support Sr. Associate from 2012 to 2014.
In 2015, Jey Bala joined Science of Life Studies 24/7 as an IT Manager, responsible for obtaining donated computers and devices, coordinating with a team to data wipe and recycle them, and donating functional computers to NGOs and welfare homes. They also co-wrote a book and trainer module for IT education.
Later in 2015, Jey Bala joined The Biji Biji Initiative as a Chief Ecosystem Officer (CECO). In this role, they managed client projects and events, provided green event consultation, created sustainable workshops and art installations, established external partnerships, and oversaw program planning and implementation.
In 2017, Jey Bala joined Me.reka as Chief Ecosystem Officer (CECO). Their responsibilities included conducting workshops, talks, and consultancy, handling client requests, writing proposals, developing education modules, and managing program content. A significant focus was on reskilling corporate talent and CSR community outreach activities.

Jey Bala completed a certificate program in Innovation of Products & Services: MIT's Approach to Design Thinking from Emeritus in 2020. Prior to that, Jey Bala obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Technology from INTI International University & Colleges in 2009. In terms of additional certifications, Jey Bala has obtained various certifications including Train the Trainer (TTT) Certification in 2017 and Designing for Environmental Sustainability and Social Impact from +Acument in 2019.
