Allison Sommers has a diverse work experience spanning across several industries. Allison worked remotely as a BETA Writer and Editor for Big Fish Games, where they copy-edited dialogue and UI text for casual adventure games. Allison also wrote Fun Facts and quips for Triton Games, a division of Big Fish Games. Prior to that, they worked as a Writer and Designer for The Orpheum Circuit Entertainment Company. Allison has a background in stage management and has worked on various theatre, music, dance, multimedia, installation, corporate, and private events. In 2014, they pursued their passion for virtual worlds and game design by obtaining a master's degree in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University.

Allison Sommers has a diverse education history. Allison obtained a Master of Entertainment Technology degree from Carnegie Mellon University between 2012 and 2014, specializing in Game Design, Digital Art & Animation, Creative Writing, and Improvisational Acting. Prior to that, between 2010 and 2012, they studied at SUNY Empire State College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Arts. In the late 1970s, Allison attended Vassar College for a year, where they engaged in Drama/Theatre Arts and Stagecraft. Lastly, from 1965 to 1977, they received education from The Hewitt School, covering Grades 1 to 12 and emphasizing elements such as good posture and Duncan dancing.
