Abid Syed, P.Eng., PMP, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in energy management and building technology. Currently serving as a Steering Committee Member for the Building Intelligence Group (BIG) in Toronto, Syed also holds a position as a Board Member for the Collective for the Advancement of Connected Buildings (CACB) under Proptech Collective. As the Manager of Building Technology at KingSett Capital, Syed oversees innovative solutions in private equity real estate. Previous roles include Energy Manager for the City of Pickering, where significant energy and cost savings were achieved, and Energy & Sustainability Consultant at Stantec. Syed’s career also includes project management roles at Black & McDonald Limited and engineering sales experience at Preston Phipps, along with procurement management at Celestica. Abid Syed earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy from Ontario Tech University.
