Job description

Service Manager

Immediate opening for a Service Manager in Rapid City, SD.  The Service Manager provides supervision and work direction to Service Technicians regarding equipment repair and maintenance.  The Service Manager actively participates in the repair and service of customer and rental equipment and reinforces a positive work environment.  The Service Manager also develops strong relationships with construction/industrial customers, vendors and suppliers.  Management, supervisory, service mechanic and construction experience a plus.

Responsibilities/Qualifications

  • Manages construction equipment service department
  • Ensures rental equipment is maintained in the highest possible condition.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction concerning repairs, service, timeliness, and information.
  • Provides technical product information to customers and service personnel as required.
  • Experience with construction industry related equipment is very helpful.
  • Forklift/Equipment experience helpful but not required (we will train)
  • Handles customer complaints and service problems.
  • Collaborates with the Branch Manager and Service Director to facilitate performance and career development of service department personnel.
  • Makes recommendations to the Branch Manager and Service Director with respect to personnel required to accomplish goals.
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager in the interview and hiring process for approved personnel.
  • Evaluates performance against planned goals and coaches employees on performance and development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with other company personnel.
  • 3-5 years of related/applicable experience required.
