Johannes Sondergaard is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in various roles within the industry. Currently serving as Principal Mining for the Jansen Project at BHP since March 2012, Johannes has demonstrated expertise in mine planning and project management. Prior to this role, Johannes worked as a Senior Mine Engineer at The Mosaic Company, focusing on the development of automated mine planning software for potash environments. Johannes has a robust background from BHP Billiton, where roles included Engineering Supervisor, Ventilation & Construction Engineer, and Drill & Blast Engineer, contributing to significant projects such as the Ekati Diamond Mine. Johannes began a career as a Mine Planner at INCO, honing skills in development and production design. Johannes holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta, earned between 1998 and 2003.
