Elton Peebles is an experienced mining professional currently serving as General Manager at BHP for the Carrapateena project since May 2023, after a brief tenure in the same role at OZ Minerals. With a career spanning over three decades, Elton's prior experience includes significant positions at Rio Tinto, where responsibilities involved technical leadership in underground mining, innovation programs, and overseeing major projects such as the Oyu Tolgoi Block Cave project in Mongolia. Elton has also held roles in various mining companies, including BHP, WMC Resources, Mount Isa Mines, and Australian Resources, focusing on production management, operational engineering, and development activities in multiple underground mining operations. Elton holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from UNSW and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Mining from the University of Newcastle.
