Darrell Newsome is an experienced professional in the mining and engineering sectors, currently serving as Superintendent - Backfill (Acting) at BHP since December 2017, with previous roles including Senior Engineer - Mine Development, Superintendent - Development Engineering (Acting), and Project Engineer - Mining Studies. Prior to BHP, Darrell held various positions at MMG Limited from January 2014 to December 2017, including Ops Readiness - Dugald River, Electrical Reliability Engineer - Australian Operations, and Graduate Electrical Engineer. Darrell holds a Master's degree in Applied Economics from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical Engineering from CQUniversity.
