Sarah Ackermann has extensive work experience in the fields of education and child development. Sarah most recently worked at Bezos Academy as a Head of School Resident. Prior to that, they served as a QA/CQI Program Manager at the WA Department of Children, Youth, and Families. Sarah also worked as a QRIS Program Specialist and Early Achievers Coach at the same organization. Sarah has previous experience as a Lead Pre-K Teacher at Small Faces Child Development Center and Cedar Crest Academy. Sarah worked as a Lead Toddler Teacher at The Goddard School and as an Assistant Teacher at Bright Horizons. Additionally, Sarah has experience in costume design, having worked as a Costume Designer at Quiet Productions and as a Costume Intern at the Seattle Children's Theatre. Sarah started their career as a Camp Counselor at the Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
Sarah Ackermann completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from the University of Washington from 2007 to 2011. Sarah then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Early Childhood Public Policy and Advocacy from Walden University from 2015 to 2017. In terms of additional certifications, Sarah obtained a Certificate of Practice Based Coaching from the University of Washington in June 2019, became STARS certified trainer from the Washington State Department of Early Learning in January 2018, and achieved a Child Development Associate certification from The Council for Professional Recognition in March 2015.
