Monica Liang Aguirre is an experienced education leader with a significant background in early childhood education and continuous improvement initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of School Continuous Improvement at Bezos Academy since June 2022, Monica previously held the position of Director of Early Learning at the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning from August 2015 to July 2022. Prior to this, Monica was the Deputy Chief of the Early Childhood Education Division and Principal at District of Columbia Public Schools from July 2008 to June 2015. Monica's leadership experience also includes serving as the Executive Director of the Advancement of Girls Education from May 2007 to June 2008. Monica holds an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Spanish Literature from Oberlin College.
