After high school Stephanie attended her local community college where she received an abundance of support from her college’s Puente Project. Her participation in Puente provided her the confidence and empowerment she needed as a first-generation student to transfer to UC Davis. While at UC Davis Stephanie served as a student outreach ambassador for the Transfer Opportunity Program where she provided resources to community college students and addressed common misconceptions surrounding the transfer pathway. This role was pivotal to Stephanie’s journey as it affirmed her passion for working with first generation, low income, and underserved students. Upon graduating from UC Davis she served as a college adviser fellow for UC Berkeley’s Destination College Advising Corps. Stephanie is excited to continue to work closely with first generation students through her new role as college coach.
