DeSiyre Spurgeon is a college coach at Beyond 12. Prior to this, DeSiyre served as a college adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps for two years. There, she helped hundreds of low-income, first-generation, minority high school students gain access to college, and create and commit to plans for their futures. In 2019, DeSiyre graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a minor in neuroscience. During undergrad, DeSiyre volunteered as a peer mentor to help community college transfer students acclimate to the university. In 2017, DeSiyre graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with an associate's in arts degree before transferring to UNC Chapel Hill. DeSiyre’s passion for helping underrepresented students gain access to college and find hope for their futures led her to join the Beyond 12 team where she hopes to continue assisting students with creating, elevating, and living their post-secondary dreams!
