François Derbaix has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. In 2011, they became a member of the Board for Fundación Ciudadana Civio, an NGO focused on transparency and civic participation. From 2011 to 2015, they were an investor and board member for Deporvillage.com, a seed investment that was later sold to JD Sports. In 2012, they co-founded Soysuper, an online platform for digitalized and geolocalized catalogs. François also became an investor and advisor for Tiendeo, a fast-growing ROPO website, in the same year. In 2013, François joined reclamador.es as an investor and board member, a leading online claim management company. François also became an investor and board member for Bluesquare, an investor and observer for Deporvillage.com, and a member of the Advisory Board for Fundación Ciudadana Civio during this period. In 2014, François co-founded Bewater Funds and Aplazame, a leading checkout lender, and served as a board member for both. In 2015, they co-founded Indexa Capital, the leading automated investment manager in Spain, and served as co-CEO. In 2019, they co-founded Fundación Ayuda Efectiva, a nonprofit organization focused on funding cost-effective charitable programs, where they served as a trustee. François's work experience highlights their expertise in entrepreneurship, investment, and nonprofit management.
François Derbaix completed their undergraduate education from 1992 to 1997 at the Université catholique de Louvain, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration, specifically earning the title of "Business Engineer." In 1996, they also participated as an exchange student at ESAN - Escuela Superior de Administración de Negocios, studying Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, in October 2018, Derbaix obtained certification as an EFPA EIP (European Investment Practitioner, nº30921) from EFPA España.
