James Salazar, CPA, currently serves as Controller at Better, responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting since November 2020. Prior to this role, Salazar held several positions including Director of Financial Reporting at WeWork from May 2018 to November 2020, Senior Manager of Financial Reporting at American Express Global Business Travel from August 2016 to May 2018, and Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting at EY from January 2015 to August 2016. Salazar began a career in accounting at PwC as a Manager in Financial Accounting Advisory Services and previously worked as a Senior in Assurance. Salazar earned a Master's degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Florida, completing the master's program in 2010 and the bachelor's program in 2008.
