Heather M. currently serves as the Interim Onboarding Manager and Onboarding Specialist at Best Friends Animal Society since June 2023. Previously, Heather held the position of Digital Media Coordinator at Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, a nonprofit focusing on equitable energy choices, and worked as a Social Media Coordinator at Project Coyote, where efforts centered on educating the public about compassionate wildlife conservation. Heather began at Best Friends Animal Society as a Social Media Intern and has extensive experience in education, having served as a Biological Sciences Teacher and Science Department Chair at The Sheldon Adelson Educational Campus, as well as a Science Teacher in the Clark County School District. Heather also facilitated teacher education at Teach For America and holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and an Associate of Science in Biology from the College of Southern Nevada.
