Elise Traub currently serves as the Chief External Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff at Best Friends Animal Society, a role held since April 2019, following various leadership positions including Senior Director of External Affairs and Office of the CEO, and Senior Director of Legislation and Advocacy. Prior experience includes serving as an Advisor to the Senior Vice President of State and Community Engagement at AARP, and as a Senior Associate at The Pew Charitable Trusts. Elise was also the Director of Wildlife Policy and Policy and Outreach Manager at The Humane Society of the United States, and held roles as a Legal Assistant at The Law Office of Deborah Masterson, a volunteer at Buddy Dog Humane Society, and an intern at Best Friends Animal Society. Early in the career, experience included a research associate position in the Chemistry Department at Northeastern University. Elise earned a degree in Psychology from Wellesley College and a graduate degree from George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.
