Alejandro Martinez has extensive experience in underwriting and risk management, currently serving as VP of Underwriting at Berkley Environmental since April 2015, progressing from Senior Underwriter to AVP. Prior to this role, Alejandro worked at Catlin, Inc. as an Environmental Underwriter, contributing to the establishment of an Environmental unit that reached an annual GWP of $20 million within four years. Previous positions include Environmental Underwriter at XL Insurance, where management of a $10 million GWP book in the US Central Region was a key responsibility, and a summer internship at Benfield Group focused on crop insurance. Earlier in their career, Alejandro was an Associate Broker at Guy Carpenter, specializing in facultative reinsurance programs, and held the position of Assistant Vice President at Grupo Bursatil Mexicano, overseeing mutual fund account executives and client portfolios. Alejandro holds an MBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the Wisconsin School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
