Elisha M. Wood-Charlson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community engagement and communications within the fields of microbiology and marine science. Currently serving as the User Engagement Lead at Berkeley Lab since September 2018, Elisha effectively bridges research scientists and KBase development teams to address critical questions related to microbes. As the Community Engagement Manager for Environmental Microbiome Research at EarthCube since 2014, Elisha has contributed to projects such as Planet Microbe, enhancing the integration of environmental data. Previous roles include managing research communications for the Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology and participating in the AAAS Community Engagement Fellows Program to foster collaboration in science. Elisha's academic background includes postdoctoral research in Marine Biology at the University of Hawaii and a PhD in Zoology from Oregon State University.
