Csaba Toth is a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since November 2000, specializing in laser and plasma physics research and the development of high peak power ultrafast lasers for advanced plasma-based particle accelerators. Prior experience includes serving as a Project Scientist at UCSD from June 1997 to October 2000, focusing on amplified femtosecond laser pulses and X-ray radiation studies, and as a Visiting Scholar at Rice University from January 1995 to June 1997, where Toth researched VUV lasers and holography. Earlier roles include being a Scientific Coworker at the Research Institute for Solid State Physics from August 1983 to January 1995, investigating multiphoton surface processes and ultrashort light pulses. Csaba Toth earned a Ph.D. in Optics and Quantum Electronics and a Master's degree in Physics from Eötvös Loránd University, along with a Matura from Széchenyi István Gimnázium.
