Blake Simmons is an accomplished professional in the field of chemical engineering with extensive experience in leadership roles within renowned organizations. Since February 2016, Blake has served as the Division Director of Biological Systems and Engineering at Berkeley Lab. Additionally, Blake has been the Chief Science and Technology Officer at the Joint BioEnergy Institute since September 2006. Prior to these positions, Blake worked as a Senior Manager at Sandia National Laboratories from September 2001 to February 2016. Blake holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University and two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, obtained between 1994 and 1997.
