Annik Carson, PhD, is an experienced AI scientist currently working at Bentley Systems since July 2024, focusing on the development of AI-powered software for future infrastructure design. Prior to this role, Annik served as the Adaptive Learning Product Lead at AI Redefined (AIR) from October 2022 to July 2024, where efforts centered on Human/AI collaboration through the development of the Cogment orchestration platform. Additional experience includes serving as a Technical Project Manager, managing client projects related to AI-assisted teaching tools in aviation. Annik has a strong background in research, including a tenure as a Visiting Researcher at Mila, where doctoral research investigated reinforcement learning efficiency, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, focusing on biologically-inspired memory. Annik holds a PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Toronto, complemented by a Master’s in Neuroscience and an HBSc with a specialization in Neuroscience and a major in Mathematics.
