John Pritchard is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in intellectual property and plant genetics. Currently serving as Director of IP Strategy and Senior Patent Agent at Benson Hill since November 2019, John has previously held roles as an Intellectual Property Scientist at Bayer Crop Science and as a Patent Scientist at Monsanto Company, where John promoted intellectual property awareness and strategic initiatives in plant breeding and automation technologies. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. and MS in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and dual undergraduate degrees in Modern Languages and Microbiology from Montana State University-Bozeman, John has demonstrated competence in both research and education, having taught various biology courses at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Montana.
