Vic Anderson, Ed.D., has a diverse range of experience in education leadership. Starting in 2001, they served as an Assistant Principal, Co-Principal, Dean of Students, and an Instrumental Music Teacher in middle and high schools with high poverty rates in Seattle, WA and Los Angeles, CA Area. During this time, they focused on improving student achievement and closing disproportionality gaps in test scores. In 2007, they became a Principal at a targeted Title I high school in the Highline School District, where they exceeded performance expectations and achieved Average Yearly Progress. From 2011 to the present, Vic has been working as a Principal at the Bellevue School District, where they have been responsible for improving school quality and operations, promoting student academic performance, and managing human resources and budgets. Throughout their career, Vic has received recognition for their ability to use data to improve student achievement and has presented on emergency preparedness at a national conference.
Vic Anderson, Ed.D. holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Washington. They also have a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from California State University, Northridge. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Music Teacher Education from Central Washington University and a Master of Music degree in Jazz/Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California.
