Matt Stokes is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Assistant Principal for Bellevue School District since August 2019, where responsibilities include instructional leadership, teacher evaluations, and behavior management. Stokes has also contributed as a Program Director (Volunteer) for Brooklyn to Alaska, focusing on leadership development and wilderness-based curriculum. Previous roles include Adjunct Professor in Mathematics Education at Western Washington University and Mathematics Coordinator at International School of Brooklyn. Stokes began a teaching career as a Middle School Math Teacher and has held various positions related to admissions and environmental education, showcasing a strong commitment to advancing mathematical proficiency, inclusive education, and effective teaching practices. Stokes holds a Master of Education from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University.
