Innovative Finance Manager & Lab Portfolio Manager at Climate Policy Initiative

Carla Orrego has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Carla currently works at Climate Policy Initiative as the Transformative Finance Lead and Lab Portfolio Manager since August 2022. Prior to this, they were a Project Manager & Portfolio Manager at the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance from March 2021 to July 2022. From June 2020 to February 2021, Carla worked as a Climate Finance Consultant at Climate Policy Initiative.

Before joining Climate Policy Initiative, Carla was the Co-founder and Institutional Relationships Director at Matchcota, starting in April 2015. Carla also gained experience as an MBA Intern at DBL Partners from February 2020 to May 2020.

Carla's work experience also includes roles at the Center for Responsible Business at Berkeley Haas, where they served as the Haas Sustainable Investment Fund Principal from May 2019 to May 2020. Carla also worked as a Corporate Strategy MBA Summer Intern at Qlue Smart City from June 2019 to August 2019.

Additionally, Carla has experience as a Lead Consultant at Berkeley Innovative Solutions Consulting from February 2019 to May 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Scotiabank as a Private Banking Investment Advisor from October 2017 to July 2018, and as an Investment Products Senior Analyst from October 2016 to October 2017.

Earlier in their career, Carla co-founded and served as the General Coordinator of CreaVerde from January 2015 to December 2016. Carla also worked as a Product Structuring Analyst at Credicorp Capital from December 2013 to September 2016. Carla began their professional journey as a Trading Intern at Citi from February 2013 to June 2013.

Carla Orrego's education history includes multiple degrees and certificates. Carla pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Certificate in Business Analytics from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2013 and Maastricht University from 2012 to 2013. Carla also holds a degree from Universidad del Pacífico (PE), which they earned from 2008 to 2013.

Carla obtained the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute in October 2021. Carla also obtained the Sustainable Capitalism & ESG certification from Berkeley Law Executive Education in January 2021.
