Catherine Gay has extensive work experience in various roles. Catherine started their career in 1996 at ADIDAS AMERICA as a Product Developer, where they worked until 2000. Catherine then joined Nike as a Product Developer from 2000 to 2002. In 2003, they became a Refugee Resettlement Coordinator at Sponsors Organized to Assist Refugees, where they worked until 2007. Finally, they joined Beaverton School District in 2010 as a Learning Specialist, the role which they currently hold.

Catherine Gay has a diverse education history encompassing various fields of study. Catherine attended Texas Christian University and completed a Bachelor's of Science degree in Vocational Education. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English, specializing in English Language and Literature/Letters. Catherine also pursued further education and obtained a Master's Degree in Design from Oregon State University. During their academic journey, they also spent time studying Special Education and Teaching at Lewis and Clark College.
