Ed Phillips serves as the Head of Global and Managing Director at Future Planet Capital since July 2017, where key roles include leading global venture strategies and overseeing ocean strategy initiatives. Ed is a founding team member and has contributed to the firm's growth from a $20M experimental fund to approximately $450M in committed capital. In addition to their primary role, Ed holds positions such as Investment Committee member for the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund and Board Observer for Rovco and Queen of Raw, as well as Board Member for Captura. Previous experience includes participation as a Venture Fellow at both Berkeley SkyDeck and Seedrs, involvement with MIT’s Solve, and research in molecular genetics at The University of Hong Kong. Ed Phillips earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol and completed an Executive Programme in Venture Capital at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
