Karen Waters began their career in 1987 as an Electrical Engineer at Raytheon. Karen worked in this role until 1995, when they moved to Beacon Interactive Systems as a Senior Software Analyst.

Karen Waters attended Lehigh University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering. Karen then attended Boston University, where they earned a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering. In October 2016, they obtained a certification in UX Design Techniques: Overview from LinkedIn.
