Sheila Albrecht has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as an Optometry Resident at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center in 1989. Sheila then served as a Chief Optometry Services and Clinical Optometrist/BioMedical Science Officer in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 2003. After leaving the Air Force, they held the position of Project Manager at PlumChoice from 2003 to 2013. In 2013, they became a Marketing and Office Assistant at Latady Design, LLC, and then an Administrative Assistant at Latady Physician Strategies in 2015. In 2015, they moved to Unum Therapeutics where they served as Manager, People Team Operations. In this role, they were responsible for leading HR programs across learning and development, employee wellness, and recognition areas, as well as designing and executing the open enrollment process. Sheila also led the effort to enhance the on-boarding program at the company, adding a Peer Buddy program. In 2018, they became a People Operations Manager (Consultant) at Proteon Therapeutics. In 2019, they took on the role of HR Consultant for Axial Biotherapeutics, Inc. and most recently, in 2020, they became a Sr. Manager People Operations at FerGene. In 2021, they began their current role as People Operations Consultant at Be Biopharma.

Sheila Albrecht began their educational journey at St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1981, where they studied Biology. Sheila then continued their studies at UMass Boston, where they earned a BS in Biology with a focus in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies in 1985. Finally, they completed their Doctorate of Optometry at New England College of Optometry in 1989.
