Bert Lopes is the Managing Partner of the Johannesburg office of BDO South Africa since September 2010, responsible for the management, growth, and development of audit, tax, and advisory services for medium to large JSE-listed and privately-owned companies. In addition to this role, Bert serves on the SAICA Senior Partners' Forum and represents BDO International on the Natural Resources sector expert group. Prior to joining BDO, Bert was an Audit Partner at Moore Stephens Johannesburg from February 1992 to August 2010, where responsibilities included overseeing audits in the natural resources, engineering, and hospitality industries, along with tax compliance and advisory assignments. Educational qualifications include a CA(SA) from the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants, a BCompt Honours in Accounting and Auditing from the University of South Africa, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance & Taxation from the University of the Witwatersrand.
