Dr. Gili Bittan-Banin currently serves as the Head of Innovation at BAZAN Group Oil Refineries Ltd and is a Board Member at the ESIL - Environmental Sustainability Innovation Lab, both positions held since June 2022. Previously, Dr. Bittan-Banin acted as the VP of Renewable Energy and Business Unit Manager at The Israeli Institute of Energy and Environment from July 2021 to July 2022, and General Manager of an ISO 17025 certified chemical laboratory within the same institute from 2012 to 2022. Earlier experience includes serving as VP of Research & Development at BioPetroClean, a CleanTech company, from 2007 to 2011 and military service in an elite unit of the Israel Defense Forces from 1989 to 1991. Dr. Bittan-Banin holds several advanced degrees, including a PhD in Microbiology and Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University, and two post-doctorate degrees in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Washington and the University of Iowa, respectively.
