James T. McDeavitt

EVP & Dean of Clinical Affairs at Baylor College of Medicine

James T. McDeavitt is currently the EVP & Dean of Clinical Affairs at Baylor College of Medicine. Prior to this, they held several positions of leadership and administration at various institutions. These include Associate Dean at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chair of The Board Of Directors for the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Board of Advisors for the McColl School of Business at Queens University.

McDeavitt has had a long and successful career in medical administration and leadership. James has broad experience with overseeing all aspects of medical education and research, as well as operational responsibility for large, multi-specialty physician practices. In addition, they have been involved in critical care services development, physician leadership development and medical simulation. Under their leadership, these various organizations have flourished and achieved great success.

James T. McDeavitt is a highly respected leader in the medical community, and has made significant contributions to the advancement of medicine and healthcare. James is truly dedicated to their work, and is committed to improving the lives of others.

Dr. James T. McDeavitt is a graduate of Duke University with a double major in Zoology and Biology. James then attended Wake Forest School of Medicine for their MD and completed their residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. James is certified by the Coursera Instructional Methods in Health Professions Education.

They work with Joe Petrosino - Chief Scientific Innovation Officer, Joe Doty - SVP & COO, and Carolyn L Smith - Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. James T. McDeavitt reports to Paul Klotman, President, CEO & Executive Dean.
