Jodie DeJonge is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in various editorial roles across multiple media organizations. Currently serving as the Managing Editor for The Mercury News and East Bay Times at Bay Area News Group since September 2022, Jodie has previously held significant positions such as Metro Editor at The Seattle Times and Managing Editor at the News-Register. Jodie’s career highlights include transformative leadership as Investigative Editor at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and Managing Editor for both the Phnom Penh Post during its digital transition and The Cambodia Daily until its closure in 2017 due to government pressure. Jodie’s foundational experience includes a lengthy tenure at The Associated Press, where responsibilities spanned from bureau management to reporting. Jodie is an alumnus of Bethany College with a degree in Mass Communication and has engaged in continued professional development through the Poynter Leadership Academy.
