Abby Young is an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in climate protection and sustainability. Currently serving as Climate Protection Manager and Principal Environmental Planner at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District since April 2007, Abby has been instrumental in advancing initiatives related to air quality and climate change. Prior to this role, Abby was the Director of the U.S. Cities for Climate Protection Campaign at ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability from October 1995 to October 2006, where leadership involved assisting local governments in measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Abby holds a degree from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies, obtained between 1993 and 1995.
