Pieter Levecque's work experience begins in 2003 when they worked as a Masters and PhD student at the Centre for Surface Chemistry and Catalysis at KU Leuven in Belgium. Pieter then joined the University of Cape Town in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later became a Part-time Lecturer in Chemistry. From 2010 to 2013, Pieter worked as a Senior Research Officer at HySA/Catalyis - University of Cape Town - Department of Chemical Engineering.
Pieter returned to the University of Cape Town in 2014 and held various roles, starting as a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering until 2017. Pieter then became an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering from 2018 until 2021, when they assumed the role of Adjunct Associate Professor.
In 2020, Pieter took on an editorial role as an Editor at the Journal of Energy in Southern Africa. Pieter also worked as a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Antwerp from September 2021 to July 2022. Currently, Pieter is the Research Manager at Battolyser Systems, a company focused on developing and manufacturing an integrated battery and electrolyser to store electricity and produce hydrogen from renewable power.
Pieter Levecque pursued their education at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven from 1999 to 2008. During this period, they obtained a PhD degree in BioScience Engineering, focusing on their field of study.
