Darren Allie is an experienced sports professional currently serving as the Assistant Coach for the Australian Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team (Rollers) in preparation for the PARIS 2024 Games, with a concurrent role as the Indigenous, Cultural & Linguistically Diverse Programs Manager at Basketball New South Wales. Prior roles include positions at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice as a Commissioning and Planning Officer and Project Officer, and as a Board Member for The Sporting Chance Foundation, which supports aspiring athletes from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. As State Diversity Manager at AFL Queensland Limited, Darren led the integration of diversity programs across the AFL, while previous experience also includes managerial roles in Indigenous Academies within the AFL and coaching at the Sydney University Flames WNBL Team. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Coach Education from the University of Sydney and various certifications in project management and training.
