Cllr Walter Brown FRSA is an Elected Independent Borough Councillor for Langdon Hills on Basildon Borough Council since May 2022, while also serving as a Senior Information Analyst at NHS England. Previous positions include Senior Analyst and Policy Officer at the Care Quality Commission, where responsibilities encompassed regulatory policy development for mental health services and strategic decision-making on care standards. Cllr Brown has also worked as a Freelance Public Health Consultant and a visiting researcher at CADRE in South Africa, contributing to HIV/AIDS research and project evaluation. With extensive experience in data management and public health strategy within various organizations, Cllr Brown holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy from Durham University, and Master’s degrees from LSE and Rhodes University, alongside significant contributions to public health and social analysis.
