Jan Jacobs is an experienced operations manager in the mining industry, currently serving as Operations Manager for both the North Mara and Bulyanhulu Gold Mines at Barrick Gold Corporation since May 2022. Prior to this, Jan held the position of Group Metallurgical Manager at Maaden from July 2018 to April 2022. Jan has also served as Plant Manager and Technical Process Superintendent at DRA Global from March 2015 to June 2018, and as General Manager of Operations at Mintails Mining from July 2008 to February 2015. Early career roles include positions at AngloGold Ashanti from November 2005 to June 2008, where Jan advanced through various technical and managerial roles. Jan holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons) in Metallurgy from the University of Pretoria.
