Thomas Cochill

VP, Experience Design at Barefoot Proximity

Thomas Cochill has a diverse work experience spanning different companies and roles. Thomas started their career at J.Crew, where they worked as a Copywriter and later became a Senior Copywriter. Thomas then moved to macys.com, where they served as a Senior Copywriter, Copy Manager, and eventually became the Copy Director. During their time at macys.com, they led a team of copywriters, provided editorial direction, and partnered with the design team for various projects.

After working at macys.com, Thomas joined Frontgate as the Editorial Director. In this role, they provided creative leadership and editorial direction for the home and lifestyle brand. Thomas also worked closely with the VP, Creative on catalog redesign.

Later, Thomas joined Resource/Ammirati, An IBM Company as an Associate Creative Director. Here, they led a small team responsible for website design, social media, digital advertising, video content, and SMS campaigns for brands like Clairol, Gillette Venus, and Bush's Baked Beans.

Currently, Thomas is at Barefoot Proximity, where they have held multiple roles. Thomas started as a Creative Director, leading the development of creative work for ExxonMobil's B2B lines of business. Thomas ensured brand consistency across digital properties, led photo and video shoots, and provided creative direction for site migrations. Later, they were promoted to Group Creative Director, where they provided direction and support to a multidisciplinary creative team working on ExxonMobil's B2B and B2C lines of business. Currently, they serve as the VP, Experience Design, leading a creative team and working on agency re-branding and evolving the agency's visual design system and tone of voice.

Thomas Cochill pursued their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from the University of Connecticut between 1991 and 1995.
